Some sessions just feel easy, and this one was exactly that.

We met at beautiful Croton Point Park, one of my favorite spots in Westchester. If you haven't visited, check it out. Between the wide open spaces, peaceful harbor, and sweet little beach, it's the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Mom and I quickly bonded over our shared love of weeping willow trees. They happen to be my favorite, and hers too.

When their daughter spotted the giant willow and excitedly announced, "We have one in our backyard!" I knew we had found our spot.

And honestly, that tree became all the props we needed.

It was a backdrop, a curtain to run through, a hiding place, and the perfect stage for one very spirited little girl who completely stole the show. Her giggle was absolutely infectious. If someone could bottle it up and sell it, they'd be a millionaire.

The next day was her birthday, and she was getting her ears pierced. As a mom of all boys, I was ridiculously excited for her. I couldn't wait to hear how it went. The following day, her parents sent me an update: she didn't even flinch. Brave as could be. I was so proud of her!

Full of personality, independence, and joy, she kept us all smiling from beginning to end. But one of my favorite things about this session was simply watching her parents. They were completely smitten with their little girl, and it showed in every glance, every laugh, and every time they looked at her with that unmistakable "how did we get so lucky?" kind of love. As a photographer, they are the moments I love the most!
