One of my favorite things about winter sessions in the studio is the light. Even when it’s cold and gray outside, the studio fills with this soft, clean natural light that feels calm and simple—perfect for newborns and young kids. It’s such a nice reminder that winter doesn’t have to feel dark or heavy. Mom brought a little hint of spring into the space with white dresses and bare feet, and I loved it. It felt fresh and easy and let the focus stay where it should be—on the girls and their connection. Simple styling always photographs beautifully, especially in this kind of light.
Watching these sisters with their new baby was truly special. They welcomed her like she had always been part of the group—gentle hands, big smiles, and so much natural affection. It was sweet to see how comfortable and proud they were with her right from the start. As a mom of all boys, I have to admit I felt a tiny bit jealous. These sister moments were incredibly sweet, and the love between them was impossible to miss. Sessions like this are a reminder of why I love photographing families—capturing these everyday, meaningful moments while they’re still new.
